So if you only listen to Bubblevision, you would define everything in Dow terms. And consider the market breaking those early 2008 lows kind of scary and open-ended.But if you actually invest or trade, you might have noticed we have some considerable distance right now as Dave reminds me.
I would always argue that to any remotely active investor/trader is going to find the Russell as their best guide to performance, either on a relative or absolute basis. And as ugly as we are, IWM could drop another 8-9% before we get there.

There must be funds losing there asses in long dow short russell trade. Im sure at somepoint the spread will narrow, but I have a hard time believing many saw the dow tanking the hardest
Time to add more oil stocks to the DOW.
LOL
It's 2001 all over again, and I've learned nothing. (What's a Stop?) Trying to catch falling knives AND losing on the short side! Just give me a catalyst for the mkt to fall, and watch it not fall (like the oil fires in Staten Island that looked just like 9/11) to get back in with my spare change.
Well, if 4000 pundits warn you to be very afraid of missing the bottom.........
MD hits it on the head though. Maybe some Ag too in the Dow, lol.
Ahh, whew...I'm out of breath...I just ran over here after seeing the latest video posted on thestreet.com, with Jim outlining his RIMM calls & short common trade...and how it proved how right he was about the stock falling...if the link doesn't work, it's pretty much on the front page at the moment...I'm going to go dip my head in a vat of liquid nitrogen now...

verbo: he truly is shameless. I mean that's beyond dishonest, to say the least. Now he's saying 2:4 meant you sell 2000 shares vs. buying 4 calls?
Going to have to write a tome on this one, this is unreal.
