Why Wasn't This Mentioned on Wednesday?

"All right what do you think about a story about how Roger Clemens has lost his best fastball".

Yes, that's the opening line of this "This is Sportscenter" ad. The premise is a bunch of anchors and staffers sitting around a table debating whether to run with it.

The ad was from 1995.

I could not make this up.

It gets even better at the end. In order to prove that he has not lost his stuff, Roger, in full Sox uniform, bursts into the meeting room and picks up and throws someone, as the gun clocks him at 98 mph. Wonder where he got that strength?

It's hysterical. Literally just stumbled on this looking for another one of those ads (the one where Charlie Steiner gets traded to Melrose Place for Andrew Shue).

adam,

How does rho effect options prices. What do falling interst rates do to options pricing ? Thanks

It doesn't have all that much effect. What it does is change the reverse/conversion equation, so thus as rates go down, calls are relatively less valuable vs. stock.

It really only makes a sizable difference out in time, a short time option would barely budge.

And keep in mind the *market* prices in the proper interest rate at all times, i.e. LEAPS will already price in whatever interest rate goes out that far.
